Promotion 500mm Silver and White groups six complete soft-close drawer systems with a nominal length of 500 mm: metal drawer sides, back panel connectors and full-extension runners supplied as one set, in two finishes (silver and white) and three side heights – LOW (68 mm), MEDIUM (142 mm) and HIGH (185 mm). The collection exists so that a kitchen or bedroom with 500 mm deep carcasses can be fitted out with matching drawer boxes of different heights without searching the whole catalogue.
What a drawer system set contains
Unlike a plain pair of runners, a drawer system replaces the wooden drawer box: the two metal sides carry the runner mechanism inside, a front fixing bracket connects the side to your own front panel, and the back is formed by a connector that takes a 16 mm board. You cut only the drawer bottom and the back panel to size; the sides, runners and fixings come ready to assemble. Think of it as the difference between buying flour and buying bread – the result is the same drawer, with far less work and no joinery.
- Nominal length 500 mm – suits carcasses with a clear inner depth of at least 505–510 mm; the set is sized for the standard 500 mm base unit depth used in most fitted kitchens.
- Full extension – the drawer travels 100 % out of the cabinet, so the rear corner is as usable as the front.
- Soft-close – an integrated damper catches the drawer over the last 40–50 mm and closes it silently.
- Side heights 68, 142 and 185 mm – low for cutlery and utensils, medium for crockery and pans, high for pots, bottles and dry stores.
- Finishes – silver (metallic grey) for carcasses in oak, grey or dark decors, white for white and light interiors.
The six sets in this promotion
Silver: LOW, 68 mm, MEDIUM, 142 mm and HIGH, 185 mm. White: LOW, 68 mm, MEDIUM, 142 mm and HIGH, 185 mm. A typical 600 mm wide base unit is built with one LOW drawer at the top and two HIGH drawers below it; a 900 mm pan drawer unit usually takes two HIGH boxes.
Planning a 500 mm drawer stack
- Measure the clear inner depth of the carcass. With 500 mm sets you need roughly 505–510 mm behind the front panel; deeper carcasses are fine, shallower ones need a 450 mm system.
- Decide the side height per drawer from the contents, not from the front height – a 185 mm side can sit behind a 300 mm tall front.
- Cut the drawer bottom from 16 mm board to the width given in the set instructions (carcass inner width minus the thickness of both metal sides) and the back panel to match the side height.
- Fit the runners to the carcass sides on the 32 mm hole pattern, assemble the box, hang it and adjust the front with the integrated height and side screws.
Related categories
The full range of lengths and heights, outside this promotion, is listed under soft-close drawer systems and drawer systems. If you keep your existing wooden drawer boxes, choose runners instead: 500 mm drawer runners, soft-close drawer runners, undermount drawer runners or heavy-duty drawer runners for loads above 40 kg. Fronts are finished with kitchen cabinet handles or a handle-free profile handle, and drawer interiors are kept tidy with pull-out storage inserts.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy runners separately?
No. Each set includes the drawer sides with the runner mechanism, the carcass rails, the front brackets and the back connectors. You add only the drawer bottom, the back board and your front panel.
Which side height should I choose?
68 mm for cutlery, utensils and spices; 142 mm for plates, bowls and small pans; 185 mm for large pots, bottles and packets. Mixing heights within one unit is normal.
Can the sets be used in a bedroom or office?
Yes – the system is the same for any 500 mm deep carcass, from a kitchen base unit to a wardrobe internal drawer or a desk pedestal.
Why 500 mm and not 450 or 550 mm?
500 mm is the most common depth for fitted-kitchen base units in the UK, which is why this promotion concentrates on it. Other lengths are available in the main drawer system categories.
