- Incorrect profile alignment on lift-up flaps: When illuminating wall units with upward-opening fronts (often supported by heavy-duty gas struts), the LED profile must not be positioned at the front edge pointing backwards. When the flap is opened, the user would look directly into the LEDs. Instead: fit a 45° profile at the back panel pointing downwards and forwards.
- Ignoring reflective surfaces: A flat surface-mounted profile placed above a black high-gloss kitchen worktop causes every individual LED spot to reflect clearly in the surface. In this scenario, choose a deep profile with a dense opal diffuser and a 45° tilt.
