How do I align the shelf perfectly level?
Mark the first drill hole and drill it. Fix the first bracket loosely. Now place the spirit level on the bracket or temporarily rest the shelf board on it, align it precisely horizontal, and only then mark the remaining drill holes.
Why does the coating chip when sawing?
If you cut a black shelf board to size yourself, the hard melamine coating can chip along the cut edge. Use a fine-toothed saw blade, apply masking tape along the cutting line beforehand, and saw at a moderate feed rate. When using a circular saw, ensure the decorative face of the board points downwards, as the circular saw blade cuts from the bottom upwards.
