Now determine the position of the castors. A distance of 20 mm - 30 mm from the outer edges is generally ideal. This offset prevents the edge of the chipboard from tearing out under load and ensures the wheel does not protrude past the edge of the unit during rotation.
Step 2: Mark the Drill Holes
Place the first castor at the chosen position. Align the 32x32 mm plate parallel to the outer edges of the cabinet. Use a pencil to mark the four screw holes through the cut-outs of the mounting plate onto the base.

Position the first castor directly over the pre-drilled holes. Insert the screws. If the mounting plate features countersinking (bevelled edges around the holes), use countersunk screws. If the plate is flat-stamped, pan head screws offer a better contact surface and higher clamping force.
Set your cordless driver to a low torque setting (e.g. setting 3 or 4 out of 15). Drive the screws in diagonally across from one another. Tighten them hand-tight.
