The dimensions (e.g. 250 mm from the cabinet edge) must be maintained down to the millimetre, otherwise the kinematics of the flap will jam.
  4. Clipping in the new strut: The new cylinder is simply pressed onto the ball studs of the mounting plates until it audibly clicks into place. Ensure that the thicker part of the cylinder (the body) generally points upwards to ensure lubrication of the seals.

Can I replace a 200 N strut with a 250 N strut? Changing the force rating is only recommended to a limited extent. If the Newton rating is too high, the flap can only be closed with considerable effort and will slam upwards unchecked when opened, which can damage the hinges (the concealed hinge). If it is too low, the flap will not stay open. Ideally, stick to the original specification.

Do the fittings suit every hinge? Flap stays work independently of the hinges that hold the flap to the top panel. However, it is important that the hinges themselves are intact.
