Measuring for a Drawer Runners Replacement

However, they generally offer partial extension and a lower load rating than ball bearing alternatives.

Under-mount runners sit beneath the drawer box rather than on the sides, making the hardware invisible when the drawer is opened. These are popular in premium cabinetry and frequently incorporate integrated soft-close or push-to-open dampening systems. Note that retrofitting under-mount runners requires specific drawer box dimensions and underside rebating.
Selecting the Right Features and Load Capacity
When choosing replacement drawer runners, consider how the drawer will be used daily. Standard cutlery and clothes drawers perform well with runners rated for 20 kg to 30 kg. For heavy pan drawers, workshop storage, or filing cabinets, opt for heavy-duty ball bearing runners rated up to 45 kg or more.
