1. Mark the Position of the Side Blocks

Mark the drill holes on the inside of the cabinet. If your carcass features a System 32 hole line, you can often align the housings directly with these 5 mm holes. Pay attention to the setback: the front edge of the lift housing should sit at least 20 mm - 30 mm behind the front edge of the carcass so the doors close smoothly. Use a spirit level to ensure the markings on the left and right sides are at the exact same height.

Mark the centres of the points with a bradawl. On smooth melamine coatings, this prevents the drill bit from slipping. Pre-drill the holes to a depth of approximately 10 mm. Now secure both side blocks using the supplied fixings. If screwing into 18 mm thick chipboard, screw sizes from 4 x 15 mm to 4 x 17 mm are ideal. Tighten the screws firmly, but do not overtighten them to avoid stripping the thread in the wood.

The horizontal rail on which the hangers will hang is extendable. Insert the ends of the rail into the receivers on both pivoting arms. Pull the rail out until it spans the internal width precisely. What is the standard diameter for the crossbar? When using an extendable rail, it consists of two concentric tubes. The outer tube typically has a diameter of 22 mm to 25 mm. This corresponds to the standard for conventional coat hangers, allowing them to glide smoothly.

Can I install a wardrobe lift in a wardrobe with sliding doors? Yes, this is possible. However, pay close attention to the overlap of the sliding doors. The clear opening must be wide enough so the pivoting arms do not catch on the retracted door during pull-down. Measure the opening with the door fully slid open.

Are there alternatives if the cabinet is not tall enough for a lift? If the cabinet has a height of less than 2000 mm, a wardrobe lift is generally impractical because hanging garments will hit the floor or lower shelves when swung down.
