  • Using abrasive cream cleaners: The abrasive particles in scouring creams are too coarse and will irreversibly dull the chrome surface.
  • Incorrect steel wool: Standard wire wool from DIY stores (grade 0 or 1) will immediately scratch chrome. Always verify the specification is grade 0000.
