Step 1: Calculate the Screw Length

  1. Clamp an offcut of sacrificial board (scrap piece of MDF or timber) firmly to the rear of the front behind the drilling area using the G-cramp. This prevents fraying or blowout of the coating when the bit exits.
  2. Position the drill bit at a right angle (90°).

Once the handle is perfectly aligned, the final tightening takes place.

  1. Press the handle firmly in its adjusted position against the front with one hand so it no longer shifts.
  2. With the other hand, tighten the screws from the rear.
  3. Important: Use a manual screwdriver exclusively. A cordless driver often produces too much torque. Because the internal threads of handles (often made of die-cast zinc or aluminium) are softer than the steel screw, overtightening immediately destroys the thread (the thread strips).
  4. Tighten the screw hand-tight. The pan head of the screw now draws flat against the inside of the wardrobe door, securing the handle immovably via frictional resistance.
