Before you begin assembling, systematic preparation is crucial. Open the cardboard boxes flat on the floor and use the cardboard directly as a protective mat. This avoids scratches on the finish of the components as well as on your floor.

Step-by-Step Assembly

Step 1: Insert Hardware into the Side Panels

Step 2: Assemble the Carcase

Fit the bottom base, the fixed central shelf, and the top panel onto one of the side panels. The bolts and dowels must slide precisely into the end edges of the horizontal shelves. As soon as the parts sit flush, turn the casings of the cam lock fittings roughly 180° clockwise using a screwdriver. This pulls the joint firmly together. Now place the second side panel onto the construction from above and lock all the connectors here as well.

Step 3: Attach and Align the Back Panel

Carefully turn the carcase onto its front face so that the edges where the doors will later be fitted are resting on the floor. Position the back panel. Before you drive in the first nail, you must align the cabinet squarely. To do this, measure diagonally with the tape measure from the top left to the bottom right corner and compare the measurement with the other diagonal. Both values must match to the exact millimetre.

A piece of furniture without a squarely aligned back panel behaves like a house of cards in a draught — it instantly loses its structural integrity and the doors cannot be adjusted later without rubbing. Nail the back panel down all the way around with a spacing of approximately 10 cm to 15 cm.

Step 4: Base Glides and Standing the Unit Up

Hammer or screw the included plastic base glides underneath the side panels. Afterwards, lift the cabinet upright with two people and move it to its intended location. Level it using the spirit level. On uneven floors, small shims will help. Now insert the shelf support studs (5 mm diameter metal pins) at the desired height in the system holes inside the carcase and lay the shelves on top.

Step 5: Mount the Doors and Cup Hinges

Screw the cruciform mounting plate to the pre-drilled positions inside the carcase, which are drilled as standard in the System 32 grid. Insert the concealed cup hinge into the large 35 mm cup hole in the door and fix it with the appropriate screws. Because the doors on this model sit flush over the side panels, this is a full overlay installation. Now bring the door up to the carcase, slide the hinge arm onto the mounting plate, and tighten the fixing screw.

Wall Mounting and Anti-Tilt Protection

This step is safety-critical and must not be skipped. In particular, models such as a shoe cabinet 30 cm deep or even a slim shoe cabinet 20 cm deep have an unfavourable centre of gravity due to their narrow footprint. As soon as the doors are opened and weight acts upon the hinges, an acute risk of tipping exists.

For solid masonry (concrete, brick), use standard 8 mm expansion wall plugs.   • Doors rubbing: If the doors bind or hang crooked, use the adjustment screws on the concealed cup hinge. The front screw regulates the gap between the doors (lateral adjustment). The rear screw on the hinge arm adjusts the door's distance from the carcase (depth adjustment by approx. 1.5 mm to 2 mm). Adjust the height by slightly loosening the two screws on the mounting plate, shifting the door, and tightening them again.
  • Back panel nails splitting out: Drive the nails in perfectly upright. Aim for the centre of the 16 mm thick chipboard to prevent the finish from chipping on the inside.
