Can I use kitchen cabinet hinges on living room furniture such as Besta? Yes, the mechanical design is identical. A concealed cup hinge makes no distinction between kitchen and living room use. The only decisive factors are the cup diameter (35 mm), the drilling pattern (System 32), and the weight of the door. For very heavy or tall fronts, fitting three hinges per door instead of two may be necessary.

Do I need to replace all hinges when upgrading to soft-close? For optimal closing behaviour, it is recommended to replace all hinges on a single door with soft-closing models. Mixing damped and undamped fittings on the same door can lead to uneven load distribution and premature wear of the hydraulic piston.
