The distance from the edge of the hole to the outer edge of the door is known as the cup distance or C-dimension. Depending on the hinge type and door thickness, this dimension is usually between 3 mm and 5 mm. Using the 35 mm Forstner bit, drill approximately 11.5 mm to 13 mm deep into the rear of the door.
